Behind the Cup
Oscar and Francisca Chacón are third generation coffee growers. But coffee is much more than a family legacy, for them, it is their very heart and soul. The couple is committed to quality and innovation and are part of the very first growers in Costa Rica to produce a Honey type specialty coffee through natural process.
In 2005, after years of offering their cherries to a cooperative at market prices, they decided to join the brand new “micro mill revolution” and buy their very own pulper, to have more control on the quality of their product and the price they could get for it. These experiments became some of the most exciting new flavour profiles we’ve ever tasted: Now, the Chacóns produce a great variety of Honey coffees, modulating the drying time to create a rainbow of different tastes.
