Description
Sumatra Gayo Mountain coffee has a strong, full bodied flavor with a long finish and evokes the strength of its symbol: the Asian elephant. Slightly earthy, we can also detect hints of smoked butterscotch and a sensation in the mouth similar to a good aged red wine.
Rich and sharp, this coffee is a must for lovers of dark roast.
WEIGHT: 454 g (1 lb)
The Gayo area farmers in Sumatra have united to produce high quality fair trade coffee that grows at approximately 1500 feet above sea level. It is cultivated according to strict regulations and treated naturally without the use of chemicals or pesticides.

This was our first order, which arrived within three days of placing it! (That is in NS which is considered a ‘remote’ area!) Great service.
This coffee is our first try and we use a grinder which was grinding too fine for this bean which is a little oilier than the beans we have had before. The steam couldn’t properly penetrate the coffee in the portafilter in the espresso machine. The next one we ground a little less finely. The taste is lovely and smooth with a satisfying strength and no bitterness. We are not coffee tasters so don’t have the proper terms to describe the flavours, but we like this first coffee a lot.
